Sisi Ni Moja - Jacob Narverud

Sisi Ni Moja, is a celebratory, highly rhythmic composition. The Swahili title means “We are one”; a reminder that all humans have much in common. This piece features a djembe, a west african drum, which according to the Bambara people in Mali, comes from a saying that translates to "everyone gather together in peace" and defines the drum's purpose.” This piece directly reflects the drums original intention, serving as a reminder that no matter where we come from, we all experience love, passion, grief, comfort, pain, pleasure and that, perhaps most importantly, we are one
